information leading to an arrest in car thefts in Newark. The Newark Division of Police reports, during
the overnight hours on July 24, a Kia Sedona was stolen from S. 26TH St. The van was recovered on Fairlawn Ave. On July 22, two Hyundai’s had their steering
columns ripped out. One on Lakeview Dr and the other on N. 40TH St.
There
have been several stolen vehicles throughout the city of Newark this summer.
Several vehicles have had their steering columns ripped out in attempt to steal
the vehicle. Most of these are Hyundai’s and Kia’s. As a reminder if you drive
one of these makes of cars, please take precautions and lock your vehicles, use

Reward Offered for Information Leading to Arrest in Burglary at Newark Home
Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in a burglary in Newark. The Newark Division of Police reports, on Monday, Jan. 29, suspect(s) broke into a home in the 1000 block of Sunrise Drive and stole jewelry, purses and cash. The stolen items are valued at over $10,000. The suspects were said to be driving a dark colored SUV.
Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call the Licking County Crime Stoppers at 740- 349-6888. A special coding system protects the identity of the caller but allows for the reward to be issued at a later time. The Newark Division of Police reports, on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at around 1:30 am, two men dressed in black broke into the Arcade, walked down the main hall, and then fled prior to police arriving on the scene.
