Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a credit card theft. The Newark Division of Police reports on Oct. 24, a victim reported a credit card being lost in the 300 block of E. Main St. in Newark. The suspect then used the credit card for a purchase at Speedway, on E. Main St., and at Save-A-Lot on E. Main St. A picture of the female suspect was taken by the surveillance camera at Speedway.

Up to $1,000 Reward for Quick Change Suspect

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a quick change scam that took place at a fast-food restaurant in Heath. The Heath Police Department reports around 8:15 p.m. on Dec. 1, a woman was able to scam a cash register clerk at Burger King on Hebron Rd. out of $120 through a quick change scam, and then left the restaurant.

A picture of the suspect was taken a restaurant surveillance camera. The suspect is described as a black female, about 50 years old, with a large gap between her front teeth, and wearing a hat and a light colored coat that was very dirty.

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a credit card theft. The Newark Division of Police reports on Nov. 19, two suspects used a stolen credit card, for purchases at Meijer and Speedway in Newark. A picture of the two suspects was caught on a store surveillance camera.

The first suspect is described as a white male wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with a black shirt pulled up covering his face. The second suspect is described as a stocky white male, 35 to 45 years old, brown hair, and wearing jeans, a black shirt, and a black jacket.

Up to $1,000 Reward for info on Theft from Elderly Woman

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a scam that robbed an elderly woman out of several thousand dollars. The Newark Division of Police reports on the morning of Nov. 9, an   88-year old Newark woman made a withdrawal from First Federal Savings and Loan on N. 2^nd St. in downtown Newark and then went home.

A male suspect called the woman at home later that day, identified himself as a detective, and asked her to return to the bank, make a withdrawal of $6,500 and meet him with the money as part of an investigation. The woman made the withdrawal and met the man on the downtown square by the gazebo and gave him the money.

The suspect again called the woman later that day and told her she did a good job and needed to make another $4,800 withdrawal and meet him at Walgreens in Heath. She made the withdrawal, went to Walgreens, this time with her son, but the suspect never showed.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 50’s with dark hair, five-foot-ten to six-feet-tall, 200 pounds, and dressed in slacks. He called himself Mr. Myer.

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in at least four burglaries and break-ins in Newark’s west end. The Newark Division of Police reports the suspect enters the homes in the middle of night through an unlocked door and/or cutting a screen to gain entry through a window. There have also been several break-ins to vehicles and garages in the areas of N. 40^th St., W. Main St., Greer Dr., S. Terrace Ave., and the Young Ave. areas. The burglaries and break-ins started during the first part of Sept. 2010.

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a business break-in in Newark. The Newark Division of Police reports overnight on Nov. 26, someone broke into Wright Brothers Power, at 625 W. Church St., and stole: eight Husqvarna chainsaws.

Up to $1,000 Reward on Robbery at Duke Station

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a gas station robbery in Newark. The Newark Division of Police reports at 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 1, a suspect used force against the store clerk and physically grabbed money from the register at the Duke and Duchess convenience store in the 900 block of N. 21^st St. The suspect fled with cash and a Zero candy bar.

The suspect is described as a black male, age 30-35, five-foot-eight to five-foot-ten inches tall, 150-160 pounds, wearing a blue or black hooded sweatshirt with zipper, black work man pants, facial hair, and possibly eye glasses.
