Up to a $1,000 Reward Offered for Info on Mosquito Truck Shooting

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a shooting in a north Newark neighborhood. The Newark Police Department reports around 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 8, someone fired multiple gunshots at a truck that was spraying for mosquitoes on Cherry St. between Maple Ave. and Hollander St. The driver escaped serious injury even though the driver's side door was hit by a shot.

The Newark Police Department reports between June 26-28, someone broke into a storage unit in the 1100 block of Mt. Vernon Rd. and stole the following items: a 2007 Pitbull Mini Bike and miscellaneous tools.

Up to $1,000 Reward for Information on Car Theft with Child in Car

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a car theft while a small child was in the car. The Newark Police Department reports on July 23, a 2003 gold Chevy Malibu was stolen on Robbins Drive.  Inside of the vehicle at the time it was stolen, was a three year-old boy.  His parents were unloading groceries, and when they walked back outside, their vehicle along with the child were gone.  Shortly thereafter, the vehicle and the child (unharmed and asleep) were located in the parking lot at the Cedar Grill on N. Cedar Street.

Up to a $1,000 Reward Offered for Info on Business Break-Ins

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to multiple break-ins at a business in Licking County. The Licking County Sheriff's Office reports two break-ins occurred in June at Bill's Mini Storage at 1815 Watson Rd.

The first break-in occurred between June 3-6, when someone broke into two storage buildings and a Winnebago motor home sitting on the property. The suspect stole the following items from one of the buildings: a large amount of tools, keys from three vehicles parked in the building, and a small ATV that police later recovered. The suspect also stole a 13 inch Samsung TV from the motor home.

The second break-in occurred between June 29-30 at a garage on the property. This time the suspect stole two brand new gas containers full of fuel.

The Newark Police Department reports on June 20, someone entered a home in the 900 block of Idlewilde Ave. and stole several items including: a Samsung 46” TV, a LG 26” TV, a Nintendo Wii, a Sony Playstation 3, a Phillips DVD player, a Nikon digital camera, and an Ozark Trail Gazebo.

The Newark Police Department reports between June 4-8, someone broke into a vacant home in the 200 block of S. 5th St. and stole copper pipe valued at $2,000.
