Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a home invasion in Newark’s north end. The Newark Division of Police reports at 2:15 a.m. on Nov. 28, two suspects with guns forced their way into a home in the first block of Kreig St. and threatened to kill the two inhabitants. One suspect hit a victim in the head with a gun. The two suspects stole $3,000 and a cell phone from the victims. Witnesses say the suspects drove off in a blue Chevy car.
The first suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years old, five-foot-eight to six-feet-two inches tall, 180-205 pounds, and wearing a ski mask. The second suspect is described as a white male, 20-30 years old, five-foot-eight to six-feet-two inches tall, 180-205 pounds and, several tattoos on his neck.
Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call the Licking County Crime Stoppers at 740-349-6888 or 1-888-488-9058. A special coding system protects the identity of the caller but allows for the reward to be issued at a later time.
Crime Stoppers also takes calls from persons with information about any felony. Information leading to the arrest and indictment of a felony suspect could qualify the caller for a reward as determined by the Crime Stoppers’ Board. Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization. Reward money comes from private individuals, businesses, and foundations that see Crime Stoppers as an integral tool in the community’s fight against crime.
