Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to arrests in two arson fires. The Licking County Sheriff’s Office reports:
- A barn fire was reported around 6:45 a.m. on Feb. 9 at 3660 N. County Line Rd. in Croton. The fire resulted in serious damage to the barn as well as its content. The barn was used for storage for a tractor, other equipment, hay, and other goods. Loss is estimated at over $6,000. A Blue Ribbon Arson Award was posted on the premises.
- A barn fire was reported around 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 23 at 15218 Downing Rd. in Centerburg. The fire resulted in serious damage to the barn and it's content. The barn was used for storage of farm equipment and corn seed. Loss is estimated at over $1,000,000.
Anyone with information on these crimes is urged to call the Licking County Crime Stoppers at 740-349-6888, Licking County Sheriff's Office, or State Fire Marshall's Office. A special coding system protects the identity of the caller but allows for the reward to be issued at a later time.
Crime Stoppers also takes calls from persons with information about any felony. Information leading to the arrest and indictment of a felony suspect could qualify the caller for a reward as determined by the Crime Stoppers’ Board. Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization. Reward money comes from private individuals, businesses, and foundations that see Crime Stoppers as an integral tool in the community’s fight against crime.
