Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in the theft of jewelry out of a vehicle in Newark. The Newark Division of Police reports between Feb. 7-8, suspect(s) broke into a vehicle and stole a diamond engagement ring valued at $8,500, and a watch valued at $50. The vehicle was parked in the 500 block of Hemlock Place.

The Newark Division of Police reports between Feb. 17-19, there were several garage and shed break-ins in the area of Pierson Boulevard and nearby streets.

ñ Between Feb. 17-18, suspect(s) entered a detached garage of a home in the 200 block of Bachmann Ave., and stole a power tool and electronic equipment.
ñ Between Feb. 17-18, suspect(s) entered a garage at a home in the 200 block of Bachmann Ave., and stole a generator.
ñ Between Feb. 17-18, suspect(s) entered a garage of a home in the 200 block of Bachmann Ave., but didn't take anything.
ñ Between Feb. 17-18, suspect(s) entered a shed at a home in the 200 block of Bachmann Ave., and stole a power tool.
ñ Between Feb. 17-18, suspect(s) entered a garage of a home in the 200 block of Bachmann Ave., but didn't take anything.
ñ Between Feb. 18-19, suspect(s) broke into a detached garage of a home in the 200 block of Pierson Blvd., and stole a generator.
ñ Between Feb. 18-19, suspect(s) broke into an attached garage of a home in the 300 block of Pierson Blvd., but didn't take anything.
ñ Between Feb. 18-19, suspect(s) entered an attached garage of a home in the 100 block of Newton Ave, and stole power tools.

Reward Offered for Attempted Robbery on Union St. in Newark


Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in an attempted robbery on Union St. near the railroad tracks in Newark. The Newark Division of Police reports the victim was walking on Jan. 21, and carrying his computer, when he was approached by two young male suspects. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded he give them this computer. The victim refused to give them his computer, and the two suspects then fled when an unknown older man approached the scene.

The suspect with the gun is described as a white male, about 5-foot-5 tall, weighing 155 pounds, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt over a red sweatshirt.

The Newark Division of Police reports overnight on Jan. 27, suspect(s) entered a home on Brennan St., and stole the following items: two televisions, two computer systems, and a video game system.
