Reward Offered for Info on Apple Tree Mini Storage unit in Newark



Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in the theft of items from a storage unit in Newark.  The Newark Division of Police reports, between Nov. 9-11 suspect(s) broke into a storage unit at Apple Tree Mini Storage on Northtowne Court and stole a number of items including an LG surround system, war paraphernalia and clothing.  


Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call the Licking County Crime Stoppers at 740-349-6888 or 1-888-488-9058. A special coding system protects the identity of the caller but allows for the reward to be issued at a later time.

Reward Offered for Guns Theft on Homer Rd.



Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in the theft of two guns from a home in Homer.  The Licking County Sheriff’s Office reports, between Oct. 7-12 suspect(s) stole two semi-automatic Glock pistols from a home on the 1000 block of Homer Rd.

Reward Offered for Info on Theft of Grill from Aging Program




Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in the theft of a grill from the Licking County Aging Program.  The Newark Division of Police reports, around 4:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15 suspect(s) driving a red pick-up truck pulled into the LCAP parking lot at 1058 E. Main St. in Newark and stole a large grill the organization used for a number of its activities.  The grill is blue, approximately 3 feet by 5 feet and was on a trailer.

Holiday Tips to Avoid Break-Ins and Thefts



Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering holiday tips for residents as a result of an increase in reported home/car break-ins and thefts in the area. 

·      Do not leave packages visible in your car.  Lock them in the trunk or, if possible, take them directly home.
·      Do not leave wallets, purses or garage door openers in your car.  Take them inside your home.
·      When leaving home for an extended time, have a neighbor or family member watch your house and pick up your newspapers and mail.
·      Large displays of holiday gifts should not be visible through the windows and doors of your home.
·      If you plan to have packages delivered to your home schedule a certain day and/or time for your package delivery or provide specific instructions on where a package should be placed to keep the delivery hidden from public view.

Reward Offered for Aggravated Robbery on S. 2nd St. in Newark



Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in an aggravated robbery in Newark. The Newark Division of Police reports, around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22 a 50-year-old man was walking on S. 2nd Street by the railroad bridge when two men came up from behind him, knocked him to the ground and kicked him in the head. The victim sustained a significant injury to the side of his face.  The suspects stole $8.  One suspect was described as a bi-racial male, 5 feet 10 inches tall with dark hair.  The other suspect was a white male, 6 feet tall.
