Reward Offered for Info on Convenience Store Robberies

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in the armed robbery of two convenience stores.  The Licking County Sheriff’s Office reports, on Feb. 13 around 12:20 a.m. a white male entered the Duke Station on the 10000 block of Hazelton Etna Rd (Ohio 310), brandished a knife and demanded an employee open the cash drawers and safe.  He then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.  Later that same day around 5:20 a.m. a man entered the Duke Station on N. 21st Street near Jefferson Street in Newark, pointed a gun at an employee and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.  Detectives believe the same man is responsible for both robberies.

Anyone with information on these crime is urged to call the Licking County Crime Stoppers at 740-349-6888 or 1-888-488-9058. A special coding system protects the identity of the caller but allows for the reward to be issued at a later time.    

Crime Stoppers also takes calls from persons with information about any felony. Information leading to the arrest and indictment of a felony suspect could qualify the caller for a reward as determined by the Crime Stoppers’ Board. Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization.
