Reward Offered on Camper & Guns Theft

     Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone that has information leading to an arrest in the theft of a camper that was stolen in Newark and recovered in Fairfield County.

     The Newark Division of Police reports the 27-foot silver Airstream was stolen overnight on July 22 from a business complex behind Wendy’s Restaurant on Dayton Rd., by a suspect driving an older model (late 1980’s, early 1990’s) two-tone Chevy Blazer. The camper was recovered July 29 in a cornfield on Heimberger Rd., with two guns missing from the camper.

     Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call the Licking County Crime Stoppers at 740-349-6888 or 1-888-488-9058. A special coding system protects the identity of the caller but allows for the reward to be issued at a later time.

     Crime Stoppers also takes calls from persons with information about any felony. Information leading to the arrest and indictment of a felony suspect could qualify the caller for a reward as determined by the Crime Stoppers’ Board. Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization.
